The Story Behind In the Field Audio Bible
The idea for In the Field Audio Bible was born from a deep desire to meet a pressing spiritual need witnessed firsthand in some of the most remote corners of the world. It all began in the mountains of rural Haiti, where I encountered scattered villages with people who had never heard of Jesus. Their hunger for hope and spiritual truth was palpable, yet access to the Word of God was scarce. Many could not read, and even for those who could, bibles were a rarity. The longing for connection with Christ ignited a dream in my heart to bridge this gap.
That dream followed me to the remote villages of Kenya, where I witnessed an even deeper thirst for the gospel. People gathered for hours to hear God’s Word, often walking miles to attend church services or bible studies. Their hunger for Christ was inspiring, but the barriers were evident: lack of access to bibles, education, and tools to deepen their faith. I knew then that a solution was needed—something simple yet impactful.
Years later, as a hospice chaplain, the need resurfaced in a new and intimate way. I sat by the bedsides of patients in their final days—many unable to read but still yearning to hear Scripture. For them, hearing God’s Word brought immense comfort and peace as they prepared to transition to their eternal home. These moments solidified the vision: a handheld audio bible that could be placed directly into the hands of those who needed it most, both locally and globally.
Now, In the Field Audio Bible exists to meet these needs. For just $5, your donation can provide an audio bible to someone who may otherwise never hear His Word. Together, we can give the gift of faith, hope, and peace to people in rural Haiti, the villages of Kenya, and the homes of hospice patients worldwide. Will you help put His Word into their hands?
Blessings,
